Energy & Sustainability
We can help support pulling together a medium to long term plan for capital outlay on improving the energy performance of your buildings, which includes helping write board papers and ROI calculations.
The world of energy and sustainability is important for the planet, but can also cause confusion around what you need to do to help or in some cases comply with legislation. Often the requirements may look complicated but can be simple and if well managed can reap rewards, often we find businesses have hidden energy waste.
The cost of both gas and electric are high so any added benefit you can get from reducing consumption without impacting your customer experience is a win.
Energy & Sustainability Contents
EPC
The energy performance certificate is an indication of how well your building performs based on a number of criteria, these are a legal requirement in commercial premises with all building now require a minimum of an E rating.
In future buildings will measured to a higher rating, from April 27 onwards this will move to a C rating and from 2030 it moves to a B rating.
We can help with the EPC assessments, but also with any work required to bring your building to an improved rating, we can often model the outcome of any proposed work so there is an understanding of the true impact it has on the rating.
TM44 Assessments
The TM44 or air conditioning energy efficiency inspections must be carried out every 5 years as part of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. We can carry the TM44 inspections in line with your annual testing programme.
Operational Energy Surveys
We can carry out in depth surveys on how and when your buildings consume power. Starting with a desktop exercise using smart meter data we can see where your premises has energy spikes or periods of prolonged high consumption. Once we understand the data patterns we can then get into the detail of how your buildings operate daily, usually through talking to the on site teams about what they do, when & why – this can then be tied back to the data points.
The final output can be a physical consumption survey where we spend a number of hours on site testing where power is being consumed and offering some recommendations on how to reduce consumption.
ESOS (energy savings opportunity scheme)
We also have access to specialists who can carry out ESOS (energy savings opportunity scheme) surveys and process map and suppliers who can also help look at the wider sustainability measures of your business.
